I personally HATE most of the "Future" ideas...
« on: April 09, 2009, 08:35:38 PM »
Even now, there are bots reading your email searching for keywords, which then displays links. I find all of these future ideas scary, literately no privacy. You will know what I'm talking about if you ahve ever watched those shows on Discovery or History about all these new future ideas like clothes that track you and people watch were you are on GPS then supposedly "hurt yourself" they will contact 911. Or robots in your house, which that idea creeps me out too. Or self-driving cars that TRACK where you are to supposedly "help you find the quickest qay to your destination" there are tons more when I wanted that future show that just sound horrible to me. It seems to me that the "future" seems more and more less privacy. I was trying to find that show/program/special on youtube but can't. Anyway thoughts?

you can get in to some crazy conspiracy theory "stuff" with this

do you have a GPS? did you register it to update the maps? then the GPS company can track you and tell ware you are and ware your going.

you know the RFID tags to get in to buildings? there putting them in credit cards for "tap and go" and there using them in pass ports and ID cards. well there not secure and any one can read them and duplicate them.

the basic thing is that technology is expanding and growing faster than every thing can keep up with and its causing problems

i personally love the idea but im not fussed on privacy if someone wants to know where i am what im doing or who im with then so what. i think these sorts of things will make life easyier and less stressful. i guess its dependant on your personality as to how open you are to these new ideas and concepts. but i think im at the far end of the scale to openness as i want to get a gps tracker that can work with those proximity chargers (so it doesnt need ot be plugged in to charge) and then get it implanted in me so that if i ever go missing or get kidnapped my family can find me.

i am not responsible for what i do or my advice

i'm with you on that Robin, i would love to see sensors imbedded in the body so that whenever you're passing someone you can get like a public profile of the person, all the details that the person wants to share, sort of like the future of social networking . If you're friends with the person you get access to more personal details and can see a person current location via gps and can initiate a direct phone call or connect over skype or im

ha ha but we'd have to wait for dark alex to crack our firmware so that we could do things which the companies (government) wouldn't allow us :)

I would want to upgrade myself to 20 TB's of memory please. It would be neat though, if like there was some way that you could record everything you see then if you ever wanted to play it back there would be some way to getting the "video" files off the chip in you and watch them on the computer. I know there's lots of things I've seen like hen I did not have a camera with me that I anted to show other people. :( also like when you go to concerts and stuff camera's don't see what your eye sees which annoys me so much. I wish camera's were like you eyes so they can capture the full effect of things.

most people actually do in there subconcious record most of what happens to them and actually store it in memory. we just struggle to recall it. and our brains can probably hold way more than 20tb of info. plus we only use like 5-15% of our total brain power so all we need to do is work out how to use 50%+ and we would be unstoppable

Yeah I know but was an expression.

But I know I remember things but I can't watch it like TV, I mean some way to transfer these into video files and onto your PC so everything you see you can show everyone and edit them like any other video file.

you can i think make electronics resistant to EMP'S so internal electronics would hopefully be sheilded from emp's.

You can't record things you see. Then transfer them to a computer as a video.

not in the specific sence but you record stuff to your memory as you are able to recall them in flashbacks and during hipnosis sometimes with vivid details. so it isnt a strect when talking about future ideas that you would be able to interface with a computer or electronic device to transfer and possibly display your memorys. and in that quote i was referning to bud saying that implanted devices could be affected by EMP's and i was saying that i thought electronics could be sheilded against that

i think there was this hollywood movie which was set in the future when memories can be replayed and manipulated and the villains just erased the memories of all the witnesses.  Lol , so i guess situations like these will prevent this from becoming reality :)

Well if humans had a chip implanted in them with a Bluetooth file transfer you could back yourself up so then if anyone did erase your memory you could would have backups.

bluetooth or usb would be way to slow for the amount of data our brains contain it would need to be a new sort of protocol that could do like hundreds of GB's per second

Well by the time they come out with this they will have something that can do this like a new file transfer called "10TB Transfer" it sounds catchy to me lol.

It actually has been proven that through hypnosis you can recall things better than you can without it... Like Mythbusters once set up a fake encounter with some people, and then later asked them to recall what happened. They remembered some details, but way more while under hypnosis.

Yea, one was instead of leaving your house for a doctors visit you go into a 360 chamber naked and stand there and let the doctor on the screen control robot arms that poke you in all the wrong places and tell you whats wrong wit you.
