Lifted a speaker pad...
« on: April 12, 2009, 09:43:42 PM »
OMG this sucks. I was doing the 2n2222 mod, when i accidentally overheated the pad and it came right off >.< They now seem to be dead. Anything I can do to fix it? I'm so mad, because I SUCK at soldering, and it's taken me hours to do a 2n2222 mod. I'm gonna buy a new tip next week, along with some flux. =\

you can try soldering to the trace to the pad, but you need to be careful

I am not familiar with the internals of the slim, but try tracing that wire back, if it comes to a resistor or something solder to that. If not find the trace, scratch off a bit of green insulation, till you are at the copper and solder.

And lastly, BE CAREFULL take your time when you are modding.

Okay nevermind I lifted both pads >.< anyway, there appears to be these metal stud type things where the pad used to be, so I just blobbed solder onto it and it seems to work. Oh well. I gave up on the led mod after something shorted or something and the led started burning.

Good advice though, Ghost... I just spent 5 hours on the damn thing and after about 4 hours i was starting to get really pissy. Gotta learn to mod in short sessions.

Thanks for the advice though, guys. If I ever finish the dang psp I'll show you guys.
