I herd you like stealing quotes ey?
you know who i would bone? daffy duck
LOL... agreed with proper. I mean, I've left my iron for 10 secs to check a diagram, but never for like 20 minutes. That's pretty bad for your tip, anyway, since it must be oxidizing like crazy.
Erm... If you clean it, it's even worse. There is nothing protecting your metal from your tip from oxidizing. If you coated it with solder, the solder would oxidize, therefore protecting your tip atleast a bit.
However today I was brutally raped by a door handle, and none of my friends helped me up off the floor after ten minutes, instead they all teabaged me, all 10 of them...
Yeah ive left my iron on before for a couple hours, but i have a stand that sits on an alluminum plate, so everything was all good!
Generally the term cleaning refers to tinning, considering there is no other way to "clean" your iron tip.
i can solve this problem. just buy another iron! a whopping 9 bucks at ratshack!
i did. since ur dad hias it, just get another one
ive left my soldering iron on for days, the tip is still beutiful(although its fat)
wow thats great never heard that one before good thing im not a kid anymore
Would make things a LOT easier to do if it was cool to the touch >.< Though I can say that I have never done it... My dad was VERY clear on what was ok with it, and what wasn't.
hmm i thought they had one that cools down without burning u
