Please help me
« on: May 04, 2009, 04:08:05 AM »
Hey everybody...
I need your help on something...
as you probably know(or dont know :P) I am currently in 8th grade, going into 9th grade(from middle school to high school)
and I need some help with my classes...
the other day, I found out that I got recommended for a bunch of honor classes that I did not sign up for...

1.Symphonic band(top band available in HS :P)
2.2 HONORS math classes(not double period though)
3.AP history
There is no possible chance that I would drop symphonic band...
I wouldnt mind the 2 math classes either(just means I have to drop one of the two engineering classes)
but the AP history...idk if I want to do it or not...I mean, it would look good on college applications, but if I do bad...it wont(lol), also...I am not the biggest fan of history, but thats probably because I have the worst teacher in the PLANET.

So please acidmods help me
Especially Guest !!

EDIT!!! if I do the double math classes...I will have all my math credits done by next year :D

drop history, take the 2 math classes, and take the 2 engineering classes.

OR

drop a math class, and take the 2 engineering classes. trust me, you don't want to finish math early. if you do all the math early in your HS years, you'll forget it all but the time your a senior. 2 engineering classes look great on a resume for a job or application for college. I'm in a vocational school for engineering now, and i don't regret using 3 1/2 hours a day for mechanical engineering classes. The first year its probably fundamentals, but as the years go on, it would get easier, as the teacher would teach the stuff to new students that you already learned.

you think classes are tough at your age. I am 30 and still going back to school. it gets harder and harder the older you get. I am now taking leed acredidation courses. (green buildings)

take what makes you happy. I would get all the math and english (if allowed) out of the way. so you can enjoy the final two years of school before it get really tough. once you get into the college core classes, you pick the math right back up. like riding a bike. as for the history, its good to have the knowledge. but I would not go crazy with it. take the required half semester, and let it be. the intro is stuff you already know anyway.

The Guest bbc code only works over at SM. We don't have it installed here.
