CFW Help...
« on: May 11, 2009, 06:11:30 PM »
I am new to CFW and I am now on 5.00 m33-6

I have a few questions:

(1) Where do I put the BakonICE v2.10 file/folder? I have no idea...
(2) Where can I download game ISO's for games I PAID for, I dont have a drive anymore so.. am I now screwed?
(3) Where can I get some really good themes?
(4) Do they have a Super Smash Bros or Mario Kart emulator(s)?
(5) Mmmm What else can I do with CFW other then games on the mem stick, special themes and some game hacks?

Thanks

1. I'm pretty Sure BakonICE is a .prx, so it should go in the "SEPLUGINS" folder on the mem stick root.
2. Sorry, I can't discuss it on the public forums, but shoot me a pm and I'll give you a links...
3. go here for a good list of themes: http://customizepsp.co.uk/forums/index.php?automodule=downloads&cmd=viewcat&cat_id=5
4. You should try Daedelus X64 for a good n64 emulator... Not Full speed, but the best there is.
5. I have one thing for you: IR SHELL!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for all the "noobie" question guys but I only had 1 slim OEM battery so  I didn't want to screw with it so I just broke down and finally bought a extra slim battery to pandoraize.

If I put it in the seplugins, how do I bring it up/access it? P.S. I have the Ultimate VSH menu I don't know if that makes a difference.

What's IR shell?

Also what does "Suspend Device" do if I click it on the menu of m33-6?

(lol, that's exactly what I did)

Hold down the Right trigger while you turn on the psp, and you should get a black-background text menu. Go to plugins, and turn BakonICE. Also, if you want reall good themes, look into a program called "CXMB", it will let you  use CTF themes.
Also, here's a really good homebrew resource site (my fave): http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/

What's IR shell?
It's a multitasking shell for the psp with features exclusive to both the phat, and the slim. You can do stuff like listening to music while playing games, launch homebrew, view pictures, and it even has a really nice GUI

no prob

Hey i want to do the multi task thingy to
do you do same for phat?
You can only run IR-Shell with 1 application (homebrew, game, etc...) on the phat, but the slim (due to extra RAM) can do 2 applications AND Ir-Shell at the same time. But with the phat, you can use the infrared function on it to control TV's (mucho school fun :D)

Hey about the IR shell, does it replace the XMB? Cause I kinda want to keep the XMB.

Any other good theme sites?

You can autoboot to IR-Shell, but later return to XMB, or you can choose to boot into XMB and select IR-Shell as an application when you need it.

Well, Consolespot has a pretty kickin' theme selection, I just can't remember where on the site...

All you have to do is, when you go to the plugins menu to NOT select the plugin "irsautoboot.prx".

I skimmed the thread, but you DO know you can soft-mod slim batteries, right? And then you can revert them after you're done?

And please stop spamming guys...

Another thing - DON'T ASK FOR ISO DOWNLOAD SITES! Have you not read the rules yet?

Finally, I agree with alentris. IR shell is SWEET. Especially on a phat, in the middle of a TV store =D
Other apps I like are PSPtube and some emulators. A few homebrew games are pretty fun too.

Sig by Kenshinffx - Thanks!

I've tried IRshell and really liked the capabilities.
The only thing I didn't like was that it would crash frequently.
It would just freeze up on me and I had to take out the battery to reboot it.  it was getting annoying and uninstalled it.

Does it crash frequently for you guys?

Elitegamer didn't have an already CFW'ed psp...

No, that wasn't spam, we had a dicussion about the how asking for iso's was not allowed, and we edited the comments to not contain anything about ISO sites.

LOL tru. dat. Or, a cafeteria in school is nice :D

No, make sure you haven't installed any capabilities that don't belong with your psp edition. Or, try deleting all of the IR-Shell files and re-installing them.
