thanks guys for the birthday wishes..even though most of the day was spent in agonizing pain..but I believe I am through the worst of it. 

FTW...flag day is an amarican ritual if you will (not really a holiday) this is a day set aside for patriots to all fly the american flag to symbolize your commitment to the free nation, june 14th some time in the ??1770's?? the american flag was adopted by congress to represent this country.

LOL =D Nope it's not Canadian. Never even heard of it. Although I recently learned that "Boxing Day" is a Canadian thing... You guys get "Black Friday" which is sorta a similar thing, but at a different time of the year.

sounds like it was a sort of veterans day or patriot day or something before there was a veterans day.  The reason I thought it was canadian is that I work with a girl who is from quebec, and sometimes when we see stuff on the calender around hear, she knows what it is cuz in north american calenders, usually the canadian holidays are marked.

oh well mystery solved. cant wait for next years flag day :lol:
