Ok guys I possibly found my first car today. I was searching locally for cars and I came across a 1993 Geo Storm for $500. I talked to the dude on the phone and he said I can go look at it.

We arrived at their house and their daughter was outside (

)....anywayz The body is in ehh... not too bad condition. There are a couple bad spots, but my mom started it right up and it sounded great. The guy actually went down to $400 when he saw how bad I wanted it.

We are going back monday to test drive it and hopefully pay for it..

Does anybody have feedback for this type of car? My brother was a mechanic and he said there were not really any recurring problems with them.

we are talking about a first go-cart when we speak of a geo storm. it makes one helluva go-cart, especially in PA!

The net value of the car in it's condition is about $800-1000 according to kbb.com

your lucky you are getting a car...

i have to wait at least till im 18 to even get my license or car. why? CAUSE I HAVE 2 SISTERS AHEAD OF ME! yet i know how to drive and they are just starting to learn. 2 mroe years till im 18 :\

this is why my life is bs. 4 sisters in total no bros and im the youngest

but for 400 pretty good. my first car should be around 6,000 or so. hatch

Right now I drive around my scooter but it needs a tune up..Will cost around $40-60

I don't even have my learners yet. I don't know what I'm waiting for..Should be studying for it

idk why kids get excited when they get to drive. for me i started at 12 and its boring for me now. driving really isnt that fun.

It's not that it's fun that you're driving, tmandt.

It's the fact that you're growing up, you're doing something to allow your social life to grow and prosper. You're capable of going places you normally couldn't. You're mind is simply set free by it.

But yeah when you or your mum goes out to take it for a test run, listen to see if there's anything that sounds funny, or if anything feels funny. It's the guts you want to worry about on an older used car. Cosmetics mean nothing if it ain't got the legs to move it to places to show off.

Yeah I'm just excited that I am actually getting a car in general. I can't even drive it yet. My mom, dad and brother may test drive it as well so they can all get a taste of it.

You can get your permit at 16, provisional at 17, and license at 18...
It has nothing to do with family members.
