GhoSt rig worklog (slow progress)
« on: June 23, 2009, 11:07:47 PM »
Well since my parents stole my average compy away, I was stuck down with the punisher pc,

yep so I needed a new pc, and since im poor Im all in for the "budget build" trying to get some bang for my buck.

So far I only have a case and a mobo, but im on my way to have a fully working average pc. Btw Im not into pc gaming (besides Tf2 now :D) so the most intesive thing it will run is after effects cs4.

now for the pics:

lol, Im ready for peoples abuse of my mobo and cruddy plastic case, any way give me some pointers for the rest of my hardware, I already have the cpu sorted (AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000 3.1GHz). Remember Im running a 1Ghz 512mb ram peice of crap now, oh and New Zealand is like 1 year behind US technology

I would go ahead and pick up like a 9600 gso graphics card which is about $65 on tiger direct. I forced my dad to on his rig and his times for ripping movies have dropped signifiganly, and also it will give you something that if you wanted to you can play any game on it( I played crysis on it one day on all high settings and it looked great). Also go ahead and get a 520 watt or more psu, you will be glad you did down the road, and as far as ram I would recomend getting a 4gb kit (about $50 on tiger direct). Other than that, you may want to add in some cold cathode tubes or something along those lines to make it have "pretty lights" lol.

Good Luck man,
Logan

Thanks for the sig dhuvrock2000

yea thanks, I was thinking a 4gb ram kit, 650Watt Psu  (just for the longrun), Im going to save for a graphics card but that will be the last thing I buy and I will survive with the onboard 8300, I really have no clue what is good so I will keep the 9600 in mind.

Im not going to go overkill on the lighting, and im going to put red tinted perpex for a window
