ironically, i have a master card(its max'd) xD. ya, this next paycheck coming up on the 15th might put some money in my pocket. i say might because im trying to buy a new car so, well see where that takes me. for now, im really happy with the way its turned out so far. but that dosent mean i wont be putting red LED's in. thats for sure.

ya, you have to pull the silver trim completely off the paint it. you could probably paint it while its still attached, but it would be pretty hard to get the sides, and youd probably paint the crap out of the face plate to =P

just do a basic breakdown of the psp. id say break it down to where all you have left if the UMD and the memory card slot. remember to force the IR cover off before you try to remove the top trim, and make sure you pull all the switches off also ( the power switch is kind of a pain in the ass, make sure you remember how it goes, if you cant, just ask and im sure someone will be able to help you out )

but for the most part, the trim just sort of pulls right off. just tug at it a bit and youll notice where it hooks onto the backplate.

wow, sounds too complicated for me. I'm not going anywhere past after the faceplate removal stage, in fear that I'd break my screen.

not that hard just remove them and i sand them also to remove the previous paint

ya, as long as your carefull and dont do anything drastic like punch a hole through the LCD screen or one of the ribbons, youll be fine. as long as you can operate a screwdriver, you should be able to take just about everything on the psp off.

and ya, 4dp has a good point. you should probably sand it first =P

my ceramic white fat psp....i havent posted good pics so here they are.

the trim was sanded and painted with rustoleum high performance enamel(yes its for metals and i didnt use primer cuz i sanded). the finish ended up looking really good even tho it took me 2 sets of the trim to get the paint job down.

went kinda old-school with the blood/slash gameboot

and the large icons look nice with the black/white theme i was shootin for.

yeah i supposed he either painted over it, or covered it with tape or removed it...what else could he do lol

Update for my first psp(still working on it)Just did this last week.
My trim isn't very good because of stuff getting into it and such, plus it looks like the original except darker.
The main thng that's special about this is my custom switch.
As for my second one, it's still the same stock on the outside.(only custom software stuff...)

I kinda screwed up on the paint cause:
1. It was my first time doing this.(or even spray painting anything)
2. I just happened to do this on a windy day with ashes blowing about.(California Wildfires)

but you should spray atleast like 3-6 feet away *dependa on paint spareyer blah blah blah

Oh, and I was using krylon fusion.
And what kinda clear coat will work on this?(to make it last long cause the faceplate's paint is really crappy.)
And should I put that chrome face on there instead?(faceplate in corner)

You have the slim one.
The backs perfect and the face is kinda sticky...(Overall, the thing smells like paint...Help!!!)
The main reason I put that faceplate on was because I keep on having that analog stick problem.
Should I show the software stuff on my psps?

Swansong. I'm giving up modding til next year.

Red LEDs in triggers and speakerholes are sound activated, using the switches at the back to turn on and off. Red LED is hold activated, and turns off blue LEDs in triggers. Blue power LED, red charge. Red wifi LED and blue memory stick indicator.
