My step mum doesn't beleive me that if I plug in my Xbox through ethernet to my wireless router it will be on the same phone line as the internet connection.

its not that hard to understand, do they think your gonna take all the bandwidth. i dont think so seeing as they dont understand the router is there to route the siginal. i had to explain to my sister in law that she can be on and my 2 comps can be on and 2 psp all hooked to the same router and no lag.(or no one getting kicked off)

i know how you feel, my sis doesnt get a laptop cam works on my lappy, and doesnt work on you pc b/c its crap. why would she spend 350$ on a emachine POS. i could find one at the dump better than that.

i know i was meaning i could make one out of duck tape and sticks that runs better. hers is hardlined to the router and mine is 54mbps wifi and i can have 3 windows open in less than 10 secs. hers takes 10 sec to open youtube. and i told her not to buy a comp from anywhere. some peeps are just not all there. mine might look like crap from the outside, but its whats inside that counts.

yeah, my mom still hasnt figured out that it takes 2 clicks to take all the pictures off her camera and on to her pc, and she doesnt know how to mess with the volume

Lol only person who isn't good with technology in my family is my mom... My brother can atleast figure out a computer.

Anyone else notice most if not all people mentioned in here are women? lol jk...

My dad's actually better at technology than I am... Knows how to program in like 4-5 different languages I think.
I'm still better with hardware stuff though =D

My mum just called me in to help her sync her iPod with her laptop. Her problem was that she "had just plugged the iPod in, and then it came up with an error message on the iPod saying 'Sync In Progress. Do Not Disconnect'"

Man...my dad is a friggin' computer programmer. You'd have thought that she would have at least picked up on SOME information over the last 20-odd years that they've been married!

Lol, ur dads a programmer, so is mine LOL Yeah im in the same situation, my mum doesnt know a thing about computers, i built a new phenom x4 gaming computer a few weeks ago and she said, "What pentium is it?" LOL

It's only illegal if he has to crack the network key, otherwise using someones wireless broadcasts is entirely free.
If you're getting an unencrypted wireless broadcast in your house, then I would assume they're sharing.
