Need honest opinion

I got an xbox 360 for cheap and got it working, ordered all the cables and got it set up.  The problem is it doesn't have a hdmi port and I need one for the future.  I want to try and sell it but as it is it won't make ANY money worthwhile.  So I plan to mod it and then sell it on ebay.

Mods I plan to do
-xcm clear blue case
-put in a blue ring of life
Stuff I plan to get for it
-120gb elite hard drive
-controller
-hdmi adapter (I know where to get one for $20)
I have all the cables and a headset for it too

What do you guys think I can get on ebay for all this? If I do all this I will have spent around $150ish dollars on it so I need to make more then that.

seeing whats on ebay the most is 325 for a modded 360. you might not make much back. but yours comes with the 120gb HD. either way if it was cheap enough you would make something.

that's okay as long as I get at least $300ish for everything I'm good.  My goal is to sale this to get an elite brand new or used from online. 

I might/might not do the blue ROL mod to it to save money.  it costs me an extra $20 to get it and I'm not sure if I will make it back enough to make it worthwhile.

Any tips on selling it?

Tovtell you the truth i wouldn't even do all that to it. I would save tht money sell it how it is then get
 a pro console. But I don't know what it looks like..........

Agreed with 40_ounce. The profit you make won't be worth the time you spend for the mods because you'll probably end up spending too much. For it to matter.

tips, smaller HD. still do case mod and sell it then. with the extras. then you would save on the HD and the leds and other parts.

This is the problem with modding, as with restoring old cars, is that you will never ever get what you put into it back out of it.  I mean there may be some rare instance of it happening but for the most part you will never get it back.

If you could make money by slapping a new case on and putting on some different leds in, ebay would be flooded with these and its not.

I always suggest to modders that you get your mods funded by the buyer before modding, unless it is a labor of love for yourself.  That way you dont wrap your money up in something that may or may not sell.

Case swaps espeacially wont sell on ebay cuz warranty is voided and no one with half a brain will buy something thay may already have had RROD or is most likely to get RROD without a warranty. 

long story short, find a buyer for your system before you tear into it.  And if you do go through with it, dont be dissapointed when you lose money on the deal or cant find a buyer cuz many many of modders have been down this road before and have been dissapointed.

i really don't have aproblem selling fixed RROD 360's i got people here that will give $120 for a stock flashed fixed RROD 360 all day LOL always got people calling to see if i got any sitting around to get rid of LOL so you might just want to sell it stock and use the money for the mods and what you get outta the 360 and get you elite


LOL chives i have repaired so many RROD 360's that are still under warrenty it isn't funny people would rather bring it to me and have it back within 2 days instead of 3 months later from M$ LOL

i just fixed one today that was manufactured 9-16-2008 LOL

forget all that, you now have in your hands the best, user friendly gaming platform known to man, sure they have flaws and break sometimes, but so does a ferarri. plug that sucker in, send me a friend request, and lets have some fun!!!

krazyone2006 has the right suggestion.  thats where you can profit a little is buy reparing/flashing rrod stuff, forget all the mods n stuff.  People will pay $120 for an RROD repair if it is flashed.... usually while waiting for their main system to come back from M$ :laughing:

Thanks.  I just checked ebay this morning and found a elite with everything for $220.  I already bought it and I'm just waiting for him to ship it.

So now I have a elite with a 120gb hd, wireless controller, hdmi with a cable, power brick, av cables, and a headset for only $100.  Now all I need to buy is xbox live and I'm good.

EDIT: Actually I got a 12 month live card from sean7341 for $34!  I'm set for now.  So that's the whole xbox package for $255 :D *wonders to himself if he will ever have to pay full price for anything*
Anyways my gamertag is Triedge1991.  I may change it if I can think of something else but I'm probably keeping it.
