Hey everyone, I am trying a mod that I have seen mentioned a few times
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=25820.30. I started out wanting a better way to play FPSs by connecting the sq/tri/cir/X buttons to a 2nd nub. Now after playing Monster Hunter I want to connect the up/dwn/lft/rht D-pad inputs to the 2nd nub. I do not know if it has a name so I am calling it DBDN for D-pad & Buttons Dual Nub. Thanks to images and tutorials on this site I was able to splice to the buttons with relative ease. The D-pad however... was a pain... and a story for another thread, but I will post an image showing what I did.
Back on track with my subject... For DBDN I need a switch, I have a tiny one that I was going to put inside, possibly out where the power cable plugs in. BUT... I got to thinking if I can do away with the power/hold switch by doing this mod
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=13449.0, maybe I could use it for the DBDN switch.
Question: Will it still do the pause function if I hit it quick and the full power down if I hold it?
This
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=31037.0 shows the power switch connected to an outside switch and doing away with the insides of the switch. Does anyone know if I can cut the connections from this switch to the board and it will still work properly? Or does it serve as some bridge connection for something still, even after re-mapped or insides taken out? Here is an image of what I am hoping to do.

I welcome any input, thoughts, tips, tricks, ideas... but please be gentile with the criticism. This is my first mod and I have never worked with such small wire or solder in my life. (BTW, I have put together my razorX nub, but I am thinking about doing that sony ericson joystick so I can keep the power cable plug in as original
https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=27535.0... thoughts on that?)
*update*
WOW big monkey wrench! they share a common ground. so the idea of switching between grounds will not work. So i think i need a switch for the 4 inputs. I can find some double pole double throw switches. but i dont want to use 2 switches. is there a 4pole 4throw switch out there?
if this is more appropriate in the dual nub section, sorry about that...
