ok, so i have been a mac HATER for 7 years now, then in March I got an iPod touch. after that I got an iPhone 3g and sold the touch. then i got an iPhone 2g for $50. now after using iPhone for a few months I realized... I REALLY want a macbook. I want one bad enough to sell my game consoles, my psp's my ds's and everything else i have.

and yes guys, i know that the general opinion in these parts is "MACS SUCK!" but i want one. I dont even know why i want one >.< hell i dont even know if this thread has a point! (thank you spam and chat lol)

what do you guys think about this recent development?

I think you're retarded to sell everything for one.

There is NOTHING that sets macs apart from any other pc/laptop besides they're looks and OS. That's it. That, and the extremely overpriced pricetag they carry.

Also, Macs don't suck. They're great laptops. They're just overpriced because apple sucks.

You should find a friend with one and actually play around with it for a while, or go to a store and do it there before selling all of your things.

I have one but it's broken. It's one of the original core duos but it suffers from RSS (rapid shutdown syndrome) I think I may take a crack at fixing it this weekend. I just found a fix for it so I may try it.

I really do miss it and I don't have the money for a new one. I feel for you though I really do love my mac and I wouldn't (if I could) live my life without one.

I have one with the infamous "Connection Timeout" Syndrome on a core 2 duo macbook. I cant figure out for the life of me why my wireless wont work on it. i just got it and cant find the solution

I've wanted a Macbook Pro for ages. The Aliminium looks really nice. Didn't like the tacky White ones. Also Snow Leopard is here soon

THERE ARE SOME COOL FEATURES TO HAVING ALL YOUR EQUIPMENT APPLE. LIKE THE MOBILE ME SOFTWARE, (srry all caps) but the price tag to me is not worth the reward. the "pages" and "numbers" software are not equal to MS word and excell. but the photo software and auto file sharing is nice. macs have problems to!! you must make sure all your existing software is mac compatable or risk loosing it.

parallels too but that is crap compared to bootcamp. If it were me I would buy a macbook pro but I can never afford one.

Here's something that may get you a macbook
www.craigslist.com it's basically a classifieds page but online. They have them for a lot of towns in the US. Just check there everyday and maybe somebody will pop up selling one for your price. Be patient I have seen people selling them in my town for about $500 sometimes even less (for both pro and regular)

i must say macs are great and i agree it is mainly the OS that makes it so great. and with snow leapord its one more stab to microsoft especialy priceing wise mac os x 10.6 snow leapord ultimate (theres only one version so it has to be the best version) is only $29 to buy compared to windows next os windows 7 which out of the many versions there will be the ultimate will cost $320 the cheepest version will cost $200.
i agree that apple and the mac brand and the os is at that point where it shoulod now officially open itself up to 3rd party hardware as it is at the point where there are a lot of people who are wanting mac enougth that they are doing it with or without apple by using hackintosh

Dude just install os x on your laptop,the version for intel processors is called IAtkos,tbh dude mac os x sucks,I much prefer ubuntu linux and windows xp.

Not exactly... That's just a version of OSx86. There are a few more types you can get as well. They all pretty much work for Intel/AMD

OS X is awesome. And I don't know if anyone else agrees, but it's so lightweight. It runs on my Akoya mini way faster than XP did.

I use it for all my production needs (Apart from music software). I have the Adobe Master Collection installed, as well as Blender, Lightwave 3D and I'm just about to install C4D. I'm also running Microsoft Office for mac. The OS is awesome.

Robin, can you remember that post you made with all the alternatives to windows software for mac please?
