hard drive question

ok so i have a hard drive and i wanted to know if theres anyway to switch it to another ps3 without haveing to format it because my mom broke my ps3 and i bought another ps3 but all my game saves and map packs like shi no numa for cod 5 are on the hd and i dont want to lose all my hours worth of gameing and saves and stuff there has to be a way
 :help: if someone knows a way can you please help me thx  :help:

you can back up the saves to a usb drive/psp and transfer them over to the new one.  And I believe that you can re-download the maps again for free online. 

If the new drive is bigger then the one you have then just transfer the saves to a usb drive and then format it and download the maps again.

well tri the backups wont copy over copy protected saves like KZ2 or RB1 theres no way to keep those >.<

Well it depends some savedgames are copyprotected and are impossible to keep but most saves are not vopy protected it is easy to tell if you go into savedata utility on your PS3 it will say copy protected if they are copy protected but it wont say copy protected if they arent.
