My current Project: Custom NDS
« on: August 21, 2009, 09:26:34 AM »
I have already finished the process of taking apart my DS so before I start doing anything technical (adding LED's everywhere and whatnot) I thought I should start off with case modding. now for the  painting,  could someone list how I should go about this process? I believe it's wash the case then sand it followed by adding primer, waiting about half an hour, then adding paint (forgot the type your supposed to use). Is that correct? or could someone explain in more detail?

I dont usually use a primer when I paint, just extra waiting time.

I either
pre1: Wash the case, air dry
1. Sand a little bit, or just paint right off the bat
2. Paint a coat, let dry, do a second
3. Wetsand with a highgrit sandpaper (600+) let dry
4. Add clearcoat.

tyipically I dont prime either, unless there is filler or something, scuff with +grit, steelwool or scuff pad. clean with alcohol or other degreaser.paint, if you want clear scuff lightly again...follow paint directions on can for between coat cure time
