how do i paint the recargeible batrie pack to mach my controler?

just paint it like you did the controller. mask off the terminals and paint it.

I have found that if you plan to use it its best not to paint the pack because it gets rubbed off and looks bad.

button?? we are talking about painting the battery pack correct? when you set your controller down, it is sitting on the painted surface. maybe I am just too careless with my controllers??

simple paint jobs are going to wear out not matter what, unless precautions are taken like multiple layers of paint and primer with a solid clear coat to protect the paint.  Generally paint will be topical so wear is a concern not only on the battery pack but everywhere.

Vinyl Dye or Die (not sure teh spelling) actually penetrates the plastic thus when it wears material off from use, it exposes more material of the same color below.  In situtions where you can get away with it (right colors, flat finish) I would go with the Die solution as a first choice.  If not just exercise proper painting procedures as you would with a vehicle, you wont have to worry about wear. 

And remember good paint jobs are expensive for the very reasons stated above.... you get what you pay for and there are little or no shortcuts when it comes to paint.

Is it hard to dye plastic yourself. If anyone has done it before.

I was under the impression that dyeing plastic is more or less like spray painting or staining, only difference is it penetrates like a stain rather than coats like paint.

I have heard it cam be difficult tho, and it isnt like making a tyedye shirt where you dip something into something else.  But a proper paint job would be just a difficult if not more.

I just use the vinyle spray paint from Autozone and I've not had any serious problems with it, especially when I use clear coat. Too bad my Autozone stopped carrying it

The back of the batterypack comes off. just remove it and paint.

I talked to some guy on youtube about what paint he used he used those paints you can purchase at hobby stores its called floquil railroad colors i dotn think it needs clear coat.
