Just finished this one
It turned out really good.  Just one problem is that the blue led in the umd drive is covered by the metal piece that moves the umd out.  still lights it up fine though.
I have done 2 other psp's very similar to this and might make a tutorial if enough people want one.
The color changers are not on a chip they are like any other led.
they look  sound reactive.  I currently have about 80 of them and can sell a couple if anybody is interested, they are 3mm
I started it at 269.99

Can you solder everything, the hardest solder is the one to the motherboard to the positive.
very difficult.
If you just want the led's wire and switch i could sell those for less than $20 like all the led's,
I could pre solder a lot, like the LED's and switch, which would just leave a little soldering for a $50,
I have extra speakers and triggers so most of the work would be done, and could include clear buttons,
you would just have yo install it like this:

Or if you wanted I could get it to look just like that one except you could pick the colors you want, If i posted an ebay add for mod service, amd you mailed it

Can you show me a diagram of how you wired the DIP switch for the LEDs.

I plan on making a detailed tutorial including where to buy everything, because the color changing LED's are rare, they are expensive to buy singly if you can find it or you have to buy it in bulk, like me, and make 30+ psp's to use everything. so i may make a kit of everything needed including the color changing LED's ,0603 LED's ,dip switch, transistors, wire and solder for around $15.  otherwise it cost over $50 just for the internals.
to make the window in the umd door is really easy, and looks a lot cleaner than a jewel, and you can get a few colors of the metal ring, just need to buy a clear umd door, and a red or blue umd door if you want a red or blue ring.
