If you don't use a switch on either the data+ or data-. then yes.

It's really as simple as adding a switch.

1: You can use a small DIP switch. I've found some in cheap toys from the dollar store.

2: No, unless you fully disconnect all the switch contacts, which might seem easy, but isn't. Reason being the switch is grounded. You need a switch to just break the connection.

3: Thats pretty thick. I definitely don't think you'll get away with using that wire. Head out to something like radioshack and grab some 30AWG Kynar wire.

As for the switch, it really can be any switch you want. it's really up to where you wanna put it. As for the toys, can't really be specific. Just a small cheap little electronic thing might have a switch you could use. You essentially have to look for it. Not too hard though.
