Broken Wii
« on: September 25, 2009, 08:14:22 PM »
So, my girlfriends wii is broken and appearently I offered to fix it. Not sure how to fix it so I should of visited here before I said that...
So.. According to her, when she puts the CD in, it wont take it and it makes some wierd noise.
Ill go into deeper details once I get to see it. Anyone have any ideas yet?

there are multiple people with the same problem, what happened is there is a plastic gear that drives the disc feeding system and if disks are pushed in or pulled out too early it puts stress on that drive gear and eventually breaks it

Just search ebay for a new drive. They're generally around $50 there.

Yes, well I suggest eBay. I know what I'm talking about.
Just don't buy from Hong Kong.

of this helps at all let me know. I bought a broken wii once and it did the same thing. I put a game. the game doesnt load and it makes weird sounds. I decided to open it cause i know how to fix the gear on the drive and to my surprise I found a jammed nickle and a piece of gum. I guess someone thought it would be fun to give mario real coins through the drive.
