Soooooooo.
I live in apt, and the building is run by a bunch of old retired people.
Its slowly going down the gutter because of these stupid :censored:s making all these stupid decisions. heres some of them:
Replace key to building with electronic key card to "cut down on costs" it cost them a ton of money and you cant make your own copy's anymore if yo lose them, you have to pay $10 instead >_>.

Cut down on front desk hours, and replace buzing in with intercom unit up to apts, this is stupid because what if you forgot your key and its 10:00 PM? yes...you have to wait outside until 830 AM. Also, now the desk hours went from 24/7 to about 8 hours on weekdays and 4 on sunday

The new key idea, now makes the building NOT ADA compliant, for those of you who do not know what that  means, its handicap accessible... one side of the building has handicapped parking, another doesn't. the side with the handicapped parking has no way to get in unless you have a key, and if you need to use intercom, you have to roll your wheelchair  about 500 feet around the building...

nevertheless, my dad and I are reporting it to the ADA and hoping that these stupid :censored:s get replaced with an actual group of people who know what the they are doing

buy a bigass magnet and go over the electronic keycard thingie, they will go backt o normal keys verry fast:P

trust me it works, i did it in las vegas:P
i bought some small extra strong magnets and placed them on the bottom of the key-lock.
you can hardly see it.
when you put your card it in messes up the system and it will think you have the wrong card and the door wont open:P

my company installs alot of these systems, lol good luck with the magnet, as for the ada issue, these card readers are ada compliant, as long as the reader is mounted below 60" for side reach, and 48" for a front reach. (I hate knowing that, but its part of my job) and phyisical key system will not pass ADA as it requires grasping and turning. to add that to one door usually will run around $800.00. they will save that much in a few days, not having to pay someone to sit at the desk.

OMG, we had the same thing at our school, its a brand new school, and they installed a swipe card system worth like £50,000

They had if for like one week before saying "Sod this, lets just go back to the normal registers"

What was the point? They're still in teh walls aswell, but non functional, so now all its doing is wasting a lot of electricity

yea, , i am lost as well, I think they have taken our discussion and interpreted as some kind of pissing match between me and you, and posibly added a small bit of instagation. lol I think we are both above that though.
