Any ideas for the space where UMD drive was?
« on: November 08, 2009, 09:43:19 AM »
hello i have a psp 1000 (fat) and i removed the umd drive.  Any ideas about what to install in there? I heard of people installing a speaker, or a wifi antenna, even extra batteries.  Got anything? :beg:

go with a speaker. I put one in my friends psp and i was turning up my car stereo as he turned up his psp volume. And i thought his psp was the radio.

ummm try going with a 40mm speaker

like this one here

Depending on how much work you want to do. You can cut out the center piece of the umd door and put it there, or you could just glue it on inside.

check out this guide and it should help you

Its a speaker, not a sub woofer so it wont have a lot of bass. Its noticeable though.

This should give you a gist of how loud it is.

Nope. Just solder the positive from your psp speaker to the positive of the new speaker and do the same for the negative.
