« on: November 21, 2009, 09:29:08 AM »
hello, just finished messin around with the first proper mod ive done (mainly just been xbox controller smd replacements) but finally got my hands on 2 psp 1000"s was having real trouble trying to get one cheap off ebay so i decided friday ad was best bet. turns out i got an amazing one for 15 quid, then a friend at school offered me one for 40... so i took that too
anyways anuff of mah jabberin heres the start, if you look down the list youll see homemade jewels post, thats mine and i used on of those. the leds are wired into the hold switch... didnt want to attract to much attention.

please ignore the crack on the umd door... yes i did do that because i was careless with the scalpel i used to cut the door... but then i ordered 4 more from hong kong (worries!) but they turned out brilliant and im now using one of those. i took these pics literally just after id finished the whole thing.... at 3.15 am (*groans*) anyways.... comments welcome good or bad.... there are 6 smd's in total.

That PSP looks awesome!  Green is my favorite color, and the green LED's are the best! I bought a PSP Phat with a broken screen from a friend for 10 bucks, and I'm trading my other friend a screen for 8 LED's and some kynar wire. So now, I have a Phat and a Slim PSP both with Custom Firmware  . Well, I haven't hacked the Phat yet, but I will when I get the screen

wow a fair few repies already! thanks. anyway. the reason there is a resistor in there is because i wired it all up separately so the triggers were completely out of the psp when i soldered them together and same with the umd door. the wires go over the laser because i wasnt too sure on how to take it out with the possible want of putting it back in, so i just unplugged the laser flatwire and taped it down on top of the port. really dont want to be pulling this lot apart again even though its simple i had a bit of trouble with insulation tape (heatshrink not to hand at the time) not quite covering the connections enough so i ended up with the leds lighting up when i didnt want them to! i think ive answered everything... :yess:
