possible zif connecter?

was taking apart a controller I bought from a friend for 20 bucks brand new out of the arcade box lol but anyway I was takig it apart to get ready for paint and topbuzzes rapid fire when I noticed this:


is this some type of zif they were getting ready 2 put in but just decided 2 cancel out the idea? Oh and this is a cg1 controller
