hdd upgrade to 60gb

was thinkin about upgrading my old xbox i got (thats still running thx to three xtra fans in it haha) from a stupid 20gb to a 60gb found my broken laptop and pulled the hdd out of it and found this:

(not my image, its one off of ebay but it looks excatly the same)


was wondering if it will work on my xbox 360, never did an hdd upgrade it shouldnt be hard. im just curious because i looked around and everyone said u need a certain hdd for the 120gb upgrade so im just curious

sorry to ask the same question again but i really dont want to buy a different 60gb than the one i hve, short on cash, so again do i really need a western digital?

Yes, it's the only on that will work. Deaextreme has hdd's a 250 gb for 75 bucks

You can't use this. I told you already.

Western Digital BEVS drives are the only ones you can use, and will ALWAYS be the only ones.
The guy/team/whatever that wrote the custom firmware for the drive to be flashed with has already said there's absolutely no chance of it being ported to other drives.

atleast the guy that wrote the firmware was honest, anyway, from the DX harddrives that ive heard of, some of them are custom and some of them come broken, so be aware with where/what u get.

WD is the only manufacturer, and the BEV series is the only series, but the BEVT will work as well as the BEVS...

Per HDD Hackr release: As of version 1.22, it works with all sizes and versions of the WesternDigital Scorpio Series.

only ones I have seen confirmed working 100% are the BEVS and BEVT...

oh ok thx everyone, ok just another question does any1 here kno where i can buy a cheap western digital 60gb bevs? and when i say cheap i mean cheap cuz christmas got me broke

I love newegg, but lately some of their prices are just... not that good... i go to microcenter and i get my stuff almost cheaper there which is sad...
