ok so 1 of my consoles ran out of warrenty this xmas... so i have started  work on it already......

aint really done much yet just cut i small vent, and back lit it with top buzz's fader code.

ill be adding more leds on fader chips to both the top and bottom vents aswell... not sure if i'll do a window in this 1 though.

very nice spurg, here is a suggestion, try putting t0ps axby flasher code on the ROL. using his code i was able to make a homemade dashlight.

 good idea but i'd rather not. i think the flasher wouldnt look to good on a console unless chasing along the vents or sumthing. i was thinking of trying to get the fader working on the ROL but we'll see.

cheers mate. um the cpu heat sink is from a newer console.... this 1 is a dec 06 console but i got the heat sync from a 07/08 console that had e74.
i think the fan makes it look bigger as its only a 40mm fan..... but it kicks some air out for such a small size....

what is the deal with warrenty, I have a unused 06 console I just got off my neighbor who won it a few years back does that mean its RRod cover runs out the end of this year? or has it already run out?

These things are Rrod prone, but since its unused, I will x-clamp it and add a fan.

   well as far as i know all 360's come with a 1 year warrenty that covers everything. and a 3 year warrenty that only covers RROD and e74 (it may cover some other things) and it says the manufactur date on the back of the console.... so yeah that one from your nieghbour as long as it says 06 on the back, its out of warrenty now ( so mod away) some people say older console are more RROD prone but dont think any particular type of 360 is more prone then others.... this 1 is now 3 years old and has never RROD or any other faullt actually, where as my 08 arcade RROD 2 months after buying it, then got sent off to M$ and came back working for 6months then E74'd on me.

Honestly, if they spent all that money upgrading the heat sinks (which was great btw) why didn't they just spend a little more to upgrade the xclamps as well?  I have an elite that I bought in late 07 and it got sent off to M$ for a small video problem and came back with a lite-on drive.  I also has a new heat sink.  haven't had a problem with it since.

i got them from a newer 07/08 console it had e74 and had already had M$ repair it for RROD so i gave up on that 1 and took it apart for spares....
