Need help on connecting 360 controller long distance

My xbox is on one side of the house and my shop is in my backyard. When i mod controllers i want to test them to see if they work. it is about 100ft. So i cut a plug and play charger thing apart and extended it by putting a phone line cable in between the normal ends. It didnt work. So i need some other ideas about how to connect a Wireless 360 controller to my xbox about a 100 ft away that would be great thanks.

u can extand the play and charge kit with a male to female usb exstention

normally yes however do to the distance the signal is not strong enough to maintain a conection.

ok you do all realize that USB is limited in it's cable length right? the max length of a USB connection is 5 meters (~16.5 feet) unless you use USB hubs (up to 5 of them), at which point you can max out at 30 meters (~98.5 feet)...

I tried a USB extension cable and it does not work. I think Microsoft somehow doesn't let you extend it with a normal usb. You have to buy Microsoft brand extension lol. Also, an Xbox 360 isn't $30 on eBay. It would probably be easiest to run a yellow video cable out to my shop to a little tv.

Maybe you're just unable to read. The USB signal can not be extended that far. It doesn't even matter because it still connects WIRELESSLY.

Keep your politics elsewhere, it's against the rules here. If you have a problem, keep it to yourself.
You can extend the controller using a regular USB extender. I have done it, and yes it works.

And actually yes, 360s are $30 on ebay. :taunt:

I don't think you're stupid, I never said that, but what I did say is that you can't just throw a 30m USB extension cable on it, what I did say though is that you can throw a second cable to extend the reach up to 5m, otherwise there needs to be multiple powered USB hubs (up to 5) to reach the 30m maximum distance... now, does the 360 recognize and allow the use of USB hubs? I have no idea...
