2.5V+ 0v Wifi Switch
« on: January 23, 2010, 01:13:51 AM »
Hi, I'm new this forum and to the LED mods.
I have a few questions.
Does anyone know where the 2.5V+ are on the motherboard and the 0.0V

I was reading around this forum and other websites on LED mods.
On Llamma's forum someone posted that they had soldered the LED
to a 2.5V+ on the motherboard and the - to a 0.0V.
Accidently he soldered it
to the Wifi/Lan switch. So whenever he switchs WLan on his LEDS go on, vice versa.

The reason I'm asking this here is because it seems phrotac isn't there anymore.

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for finding out where
those points are or if anyone can highlight them in a picture.

Thank You.

There is a 2.X spot on the motherboard and if you search for one of my posts... think it had to do with rumble mod.. I post a picture showing the location but I think its 2.6 volts.. I could be wrong on the voltage it was long ago. You could wire to the extra pin on the wifi to close your circuit's ground but you would need to bridge the wifi's + pin.. See the sticky l0rdnic0's sound mod to get info on that....

Can I ask, why do you need 2.5 volts? Most Led mods use 5 volts and then the appropriate resister.
