Looking for an electric violin

I don't know much at all about electric guitar companies that could customize something but i know how they work.

If you have a spare violin laying around (lol)... then i could help you mod it.

they're all over ebay seriously

but honestly i wouldn't recommend it, if you want to amplify an acoustic violin, buy a good violin pickup or a nice mic for it and run that to an amp, the tone will be 100 times better

electric violins are pretty darn cool!my friend has one and plugs it into my guitar fx pedal,you can get some insaaaaaaaaaane sounds from them!

 Just get a pre amp and a 57 mic or a Rode nt1a to mic your acoustic violin =D

 If you want more help with the equipment just pm me as i have a few links for what you exactly need.

i plan on leaving my acoustic violin as it is
electric violins are hard to come by in the local music stores these days
and yeah im an a band and i don't wanna play in in with a hollow body violin

okay, but you dont have to modify it to mic it just so you know

but anyway, yeah they don't tend to be a local thing but searching in ebay reveals plenty of results, and other online stores

yeah theres some pretty awesome electric violins on ebay for less than 100 euro,try and get a good quality used one rather than a crap quality new one

Thought id mention these guys whilst the thread is going....

Really spectacular stuff, all with that sort of instrument through distortion and pedals, save for the drums of course,  i particularly like the palm muted rhythm guitar style sounds the cellist gets
