the picture of the apple glasses, not exactly a blunder in my eyes, but rather a magnificent idea shunned by society.
Think about it,the glasses give you the potential to have a full augmented reality, you're seeing things on the screen through the camera, this has the potential to do things like direct you straight to the nearest mcdonalds or starbucks, like finding a waypoint in a video game!!It even has the potential to feed you information on buldings/monuments/landmarks in real time as you look at them!!
They have an insane amount of potential, only they look really stupid......

They have potential... Just without an iPhone hanging off your head.

as for the glasses, this has been in RND for a long time, apple either bought or stole the idea, as  Ryan said, the intent is to provide real time info on what you are looking at the concept is amazing, it originally consisted of glasses connected to a walkman sized device that you wore like a necklace

You could get some vuzix glasses, attach an iPhone or miniature pc and webcams, and go for there.

Or you could find a way to projectstiff on to glasses. Even maybe transparent lit LCD screens on the lenses.

If so, I need some to replace my current glassess.....

Zing! This is a project to explore....

my opinion on why they won't sell. it's a great concept and could turn into something great, but I'd rather not wear my latest apple product on my head, usb port and all.

those glasses could have been so epic.........as in next step into the future epic, where augmented reality becomes the norm epic, real time information right at our fingertips at any moment epic............EPIC!!!!
But this couldn't be achieved without a device like the iphone,as it has so many functions (internet access, gps, phone) and the fact it can be removed from the glasses as well and is still a phone. And another thing is they way the glasses are just plastic, they don't need miniature lcd's put into them,or mini projectors......
GODDAMMIT THESE HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL WHICH IS BEING COMPLETELY WASTED!!!!!
