What source to go for?
« on: June 06, 2010, 04:24:41 PM »
Okay i last modded a controller just over a year ago and never used it as it contained too many modes, too much configeration and 5 tactical buttons, which all in all was a right nightmare.
From reading around, rf seems to be a lot simpler and more advanced these days but with so many different sources and types it's hard to actually know what to go for.
I'm mainly looking for a source compatible with MW2 for fully automatic weapons which don't affect the recoil too much and don't stutter, as my previous mod stuttered on various guns.
One thing that made me stop using my previous modded controller was the fact that i didn't know what sps to set as no one actually helped out and kept it to themselves, so this would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advanced.

t0pfire is good code, or even hazer's (FLEX is it?). They are both pretty standard around here.

t0pfire page is in this section. More info there.

I have read about both of these and FLEX seemed far too complicated to program, but i suppose you get used to it.

I'll try a few different mods when my chips come mid week, see which i prefer out of Topfire, FLEX and Robo's jitter mod.

Anyone know of any good sps to set at for MW2?

You've got good speeds on the code already, if you and to change it, convert the hex file to assembler (or C) and change the numbers, turn it into a hex, program chip.

dude, I suggest that you not give any advice to newer members. have you ever back converted a hex file?? obviously not!! I doubt youve even assembled a hex file.

please disregard the above post.

both flex and topfire have adjustable rates of fire, they are done using onboard programing, which means once the chip is installed, you can change the fire rate using inputs from the controller.

I personally prefer flex, once you get used to the programing, its a walk in the park.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I'll try FLEX first and if it's too much hassle stick with it as it's the latest code.
But if it's too complicated then i'll use Topfire.

Same Chip and i have a few tacts left so should all be good.
£4.50 for 2x12f683, bloody rip off ha.

it should hazer made both codes, so I would assume the RF signal is identical. make sure your not in WAW mode.
