PSP screws wont come out! HELP PLZ!

I'm trying to open my PSP 1001 but the 7 black screws on the back wont come off. 1 is stripped and they others stripped 3 my my screwdrivers. I even tried superglue and that didn't even losen the screws. Any help?!

you are probably using the wrong type of screwdriver or you are not adding pressure into the screw while you turn it to the left.......if they are striped i don't think you could open it now with out breaking anything BTW 7 black screws ..their are only 5...and 2 screws that go into the LCD  cage

is there anything broken with the psp? if there isn't you should just leave it like that or u will just make things worse

not really, i wanted to do some mods on it. a new case, some new 0603 leds.

that happen to installed this blue casing i bought from DX but didn't fit very well the analog kept moving although it wasn't broken ....then i figured it was the housing that was cheap and didn't fit well....i ended stripping one screw so risk it and broke the top face ...that was the only solution i found but i don't recommend

if you have stripped the black screws, its bad, but not the end of the world, DONT strip any of the silver screws inside the psp, if you do, it may be the end of the world (for the psp anyway)

DONT DRILL OR STRIP THE SCREW INSIDE THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT!!

the rest of the black screws are for the faceplate, after drilling them, the face plate must be replaced:   clamp the psp or get someone to hold it, get a drill bit that is just a hair smaller then the head of the screw, and drill the head off of the screw, no need to drill any deeper, once the head pops off your done. the stud will remain inside the faceplate, whichis why it must be replaced. but if your doing a case swap, this wont matter.

ALL of the black screws are stuck and now are stripped... even tho the ones under the battery are stripped can i still do a case swap?

what he means is not to strip the silver screws because they hold the lcd cage and if you mess those you wont be able to do anything
am i right matt?

yea, two of the screws under the battery go to the cage, if you strip them your screwed.

ok just ordered a full replacement case. since the black screws are completely stuck and stripped so what do i do? drill the heads off them and pry the faceplate off? if so how would i do it with out damaging anything in it?

heres the deal, there are six screws in the back, 4 go to the faceplate, and two go to the LCD cage inside.

If you are doing a complete swap, or teardown:

 you must remove the two screws inside the battery compartment (the two that are closest to the center of the psp) you need to try and get these out, you can drill them, but its going to make it hard to get them out (they must be replaced)

If you are only swapping the faceplate:

 just drill the heads off the 4 outermost screws. the heads should pop off and will probably be stuck on the end of the drill bit when done. after the head pops off the remaining shaft of the screw will slide through and remain in your old face plate.

go to hardware store and buy some more screws

ok so the faceplate is easily remove my drilling the heads of the 4 outer black screws but what about the ones under the battery? do those act the same way as the outer 4?
