Disk read problems

So I have a PS3 that is having problems reading disks.  It starts up just fine but when you put a disk in it will play for ~3min then will just freeze.  Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this problem and maybe how I can go about potentially fixing it?

I recently had this problem myself, I had to replace the laser in my ps3. sometimes i could play up to a 1/2 hour and others about 2 to 5 minutes would just stop playing or freeze or give me a disk error
