Help with modding please
« on: January 07, 2011, 11:52:44 AM »
Hi everyone

I'm looking to get into making Rapid fire controllers for both the ps3 and xbox 360. I could do with a little advice though

Heres a few quick points

- I have already bought Rosin Core Solder and Kynar wire. Also some leds. Are the leds the hardest thing to do like many people say?

-I have no pics(microchips)as of yet. Where can I get the pre programmed and blank microchips at the best price?

-Is there a guide on here on how to program them and a hex code too?

-Any other place where cheap controllers can be obtained

As I said in introducing myself I hope to become very active on this Forum. Please think of me as a noob rather than a leecher

Any advice is greatly appreciated

You might find what you need here:

https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/board,327.0.html

and here

https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/board,389.0.html

:D

Thanks for that . I have a better understanding of what I need now. Where can I buy a usb powered pic programmer for a laptop? And is there anyone here that would send me the hex code for a  8 mode stealth chip?

Any noob tuturials here on how to program a pic from scatch? Also if someone could make a list of what programs i need to to this

a very good easy to use usb programmer is a pickit 2, its well worth the money imo and it will work with a laptop

for hex codes you are probably best off checking out the acidmods free code list in the open source and free code section
i recomend the flex code for 360

as for what programs you need it depends on what code you are using and what programmer you have

im not sure if there are any specific guides as the process varies some what but if you need any help just post here and myself or others will help you out

Thanks..Is there a video on how to put it together? Is it basically just kynar wire and ohms soldered to it? What is the object in the far right that everythings connected to? Does annyone sell them premade on this forum?

Thanks for that mate :) I'd preffer the 8 mode because they are the most searched for rapid fire product. Which in your opinion is the best?
