« on: January 22, 2011, 02:12:52 PM »
Well guys when i saw jrfhoutx tutorials about shotgun shells i fell in love it  :dribble:. Now I am doing my own controller.

First I painted my cases (not very well    lol) and today I have made the new d-pad. Here is a pic:

Now i have to get 9mm for ABXY buttons

Very nicely done! Congrats. I hope you enjoy using it. Glad to see the first thread by someone using the tutorial. :)

I have to ask a few questions though (in an effort to improve, correct, and adjust the tutorial where needed), how experienced of a modder are you? Was the tutorial clear enough and easy for you to follow? Do you think the difficulty level and completion times listed are accurate, or do you have a suggestion for changing either one?

Well, I think I have a medium level doing mods, I have made RF (Xbox 360 and PS3, case mods, leds mods, psp mods.....

I think the tutorial its very good, i followed it and i didnt have problems. About the time, I think its correct moreless. The most difficult step for me was take off plastic inside this

But in my opinion you dont have to change nothing. Thanks for your tut now I just need 9 mm casings to finish the mod. Only one question more. What size would be appropriate for the guide button??

Hey that's lookin pretty good! I used a 30-30 casing for the guide button. You can get spent casings from www.gunbroker.com

Crazy said he's used a 30-30 for the guide I believe, but I don't think the 30-30 is a direct replacement like the 9mm abxy, instead you make a cap and glue it on top of the stock guide button, kind of like you do with the d-pad... I'm still looking for a shell that will fit properly as a direct replacement.

Damn, crazy beat me to it... :)

Lol, yes jr is correct. It is not a direct replacement. You have to cut the top off the original guide button. Then The 30-30 casing slides right in.

@jr I really think a .50 cal shell will fit. I'm gonna try an get ahold of one of my friends I was in the marines with and see if he can get me some .50 cal casings.

9mm casings are a direct fit for the abxy buttons. If anything, they are just a bit smaller than the abxy buttons. Any 9mm casing you find will fit the controller. If you didnt live in spain, i would send you some 9mm casings and some 30-30 casings. I just dont want to go through the hassle of filling out a stupid form for sending a package to another country.

Dont worry crazy i will find it here. I just say this because people in Spain seems as if they would laugh at you. I have asked in a spanish forum and they only say me that its too big. If you could post a pic it would be fantastic
