hi guys im just wondering if its worth the effort the admins would have to go through to make one....

im going to put a poll on this thread to vote for

i know alot of modders have there own modding blogs (som on there own domain some on free sites such as blogger or wordpress)

if AM was to create a blogsite running on something like wordpress..... would you guys use it to blog with or transfere your blog over to here instead of on blogger or whatnot???? would you follow other modders blogs on here....

the way i see it is this is a modding site for modders so why not let the modders have there own blogs on here to (well on a subdomain )

I think that it is a great idea, however there needs to be strict rules regarding illegal content. We would all hate to see AM go down for someones illegal blogging...

Ok sooooooooooo I've heard from Matt that one or two people are wanting blogs. I've also heard that the smf member blog software options are complete jank. Soooooooooooo if enougth long standing members would be interested in a personal blog hosted on our servers. And if they agreed to keep up the blogging and a few other terms then I may consider when I have time after uni (a month away) setting up a wordpress network for you. The reason for maybe and wanting a few people to commit is that it isn't as simple as setting up a plain wordpress blog and I don't want to put the time in for it to die a week later.

well i for one would use it to host a modding blog.... but being out here in france im not really modding (no xbox, no modding gear makes it hard to mod....)

a few other thoughts bout it.... it would be good for a RnD blog,now RnD are active again, kinda like the old RnD news we started when i was in charge of RnD before the team dispersed...

so guys as robin said if you want a modding blog post up let him know about ur commitment and lets get this going... im pretty sure with the regular rss feeds and pings a blog site gets it would bring a bit more traffic (new members) to AM...

also Robin im kinda familiar with WP... and have a software to design WP templates so would be will to help set it up if you do go ahead with it..... im not to sure how a wordpress to smf bridge would work but one would be usefull just to tie membership on both the systems

I would not have an issue with people blogging about whatever they want as long as there i a few guidelines to follow, IE no illegal activities, and a disclaimer staing AM is not represented in the blog.

Also I think this may be a feature only paid members have acces to.

the blogs would be for personal members views etc not disuccions. things are talked about differently in blogs than in forums and it allows for a lot more vairied scope in talking than aforum does.

forums and blogs are two tottaly different ways of communication
