Extreme Overheating
« on: April 14, 2011, 11:21:13 AM »
I dont know if anyone else has gotten this but i did a LED sound mod a while ago and it works great. but i find that after i did that mod, when i have the psp on and am trying to charge it it will sometimes start to heat up to an extremely high temperature (i mean like burning my finger on the memory stick when i take it out, or expecting the plastic to melt because of the heat.)

and again it only does this when im charging it while it's on though the charging cable not the usb cable,  and it dosnt do it all the time.

At first i thought it might be the CPU speed but even when put back onto "default" speed it still overheats.

So has anyone had this problem and would anyone know how to fix it?

I don't know but, to me this sounds like a case of post mod paranoia :P

sorry I wasn't trying to be funny or annoying or anything like that, but sometimes (I myself get this alot) after modding something people get a little paranoid that something maybe wrong and notice something perfectly normal, but something they haven't noticed before and assume the mod has gone wrong. sorry.

please state method usedand power points used.

Unless you also did the usb charge mod, the usb dosnt charge the psp. If you did the usb mod, it supplies a much lower current/amperage, so the results would not be the same as using an ac charger
