Please Help with Wiring!
« on: June 15, 2011, 05:53:39 PM »
I am new to this forum, and I am sorry if I posted in the wrong place. I really need some help with the mod I am planning on doing. I have the newest xbox 360 controller ( which I believe is cg2 right? ) and I am doing some led mods. I researched for hours about how to do these mods, and i felt comfortable about doing them. I then realized that these tutorials were all for older model boards. I am now reading that the power points are different and i need a transistor. My mods will be lighting the A B X Y buttons and the thumsticks with 3mm leds. Can somebody please help/clarify where I need to solder the wires for power. Also, where do i need to solder the transistor. I am knowledgeable about this stuff, but I am new to 360 controllers. Thank You for your time, and i hope you can help.

....Can i use these points? If so, where do i need to solder the transistor.

check what version controller you have here https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,24699.0.html

the 'newest' controller is a matrix 2 so you might have that, here https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,39145.0.html

you can use a transistor or an optocoupler for your LED's

you can read about how to wire up an optocoupler here https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,34805.0.html

Well according to that i have a cg board, but my controller still doesnt have switched points (always on even when wireless controller is off) I still just need to know where to solder leds for power, and where to solder transistor for switch.
