First gaming build need help with cooling
« on: June 21, 2011, 06:16:10 AM »
Alrite peeps, Iv started building a gaming pc bought a nice xigmatek midgard This thing can take 7 fans 6x 140mm and 1x 120mm...to me that is overkill, basicly I wanna ask wat would you have in it and wat Iv got is fine. Heres wat I have
120mm artic f12 intake fan

140mm Antec Twocool 140 (sits at bottom of case next to psu)

120mm artic f12 (rear of case)

140mm antec twocool 140 (top of case)

I was gonna cable tie 140mm fan in the spare dvd drive slots

i still have the 120mm stock fans (spare), also still 1 space on top for 140/120mm fan and 2 spaces for 140/120mm on the side panel

My pc build is not aimed to be playing high end games just dawn of war and command and conquer first decade, diablo 2, tobe honest its more of a high end linux build with duel screen for video/pic editing and playing games thru wine or on the vitsa hardrive

Iv fitted it with a ssd(linux os)
2.5 160gb (vista os) and 1 2.5 640gb (storage) thinner so more cold air from the front fan can pass throu
5.25 dvd/cd writer
I also have 1 of thoose corsiar ram fan coolers(ddr3)

I admit I havent got the motherboard or graphics card but will prob be getting a asus 880g micro atx 8gb of ram, 3.1ghz 4x amd cpu with decent cpu cooler (h50 water coolant maybe) graphics card nvidia unsure wat model really nothing to high end but with linux support...I will not be over clocking...
So wat you think? anything you would change or add

thanks for any help/info...sorry about spelling and grammer using a wii for the internet till my pc is build

in graphics:

medium end graphics: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125380
GTX 260 <- this should work for you

high end graphics: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130568
GTX 460 <- definitely will work

overkill: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130587
GTX 590 <- why say anything else?

And last but certainly least:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127596
the "I've gone broke card" <- will most likely not work
