lm386 doesnt work after start up
« on: June 26, 2011, 03:43:40 PM »
I've used an lm386 before, but this is my first time putting it inside a DS. I did everything the way the tutorial said. Just as a test I even went straight to the speakers in the housing. The light turns on for a second when it starts up, and then it never does anything past that, even with the volume turned all the way up. I know it has power, and I've tried a different lm386. Its hooked up exaclty the way its supposed to be. I even tried using a TIP31 transistor instead, and it worked but caused nasty distortion. Do i Need to add caps/resistors to increase the internal gain of the 386 or something? I Just dont understand why it does nothing. Originally I had 10 leds throughout the case hooked up to it, then I just tired doing one just to see, and it still does the same thing. I"ve searched everywhere on here and I Can't find anything so if anything could please help that would be great!
