I need some1 to test a resistor and give me the value
« on: September 21, 2011, 07:40:37 AM »
One of the resistors on my jasper motherboard is cracked so i need to replace it. The resistor is the r4b24 resistor located on the front of the board in block b4

Anon I'll dig through the pile of boards and find a jasper. Can you take a pic of the resistor location?

It is the resistor to the right of the red dot. You may have to zoom in to see the red dot but its right under the crystal and next to the black chip lol

In that case it the origional was probably 33 or 39 ohms as 36ohms is not a standard value. I would say 39 as its further within possible tolerances.

You can never be certain when you measure resistors in-circuit because there are other parts you may unknowingly measure too. The Surest way to know the value is desoldering the part, measuring it, and soldering it back.

it was 36 ohms but it doesnt matter now because i tore off the pad for where the cpu sends the signal saying that the firmware is not modified and it is ok to boot. So I had to scrap it and buy a new one :/
