oooh i like that.
bbs dont (usually) kill people but it should hurt them enough to not want to take the controllers.
My systems:  -PSP 2001, CFW and PSP 3000 shell.  -PSP 1001, LED mods, custom firmware, speaker mods, sound reactive LEDs.  -Black NDSL, LED mod, 0.5x and 2x speed mod.

I would use metal bb kinda painful
and then maybe if they got through the sentry, I would have a bb shot gun aimed at the controller and they are painful!

One thing I have to say, we all say get a shotgun, or shock them, and it is funny to talk about. In all seriousness, please keep in mind that 120V is dangerous.  If the 120V travels across the heart, it is enough to kill someone.  Please do not hook your friends, or even not your friends, to a 120V AC outlet.
Electricians have a saying, its the volts that jolts but the mills that kills. High current is more dangerous than high voltage, that said plug a friend into the mains and they'll get both. Don't do it!

From what you say, you need new friends, people that steal from you are not friends. Use a marker inside the battery case and note the serial numbers.

You can find cheaper, but you won't find better! Discovered that we couldn't be both and still pay the bills! I trust the LEDs are still working!

I quite liked the markings on the leds, but I was installing them with basically flat batteries so I ended up wasting alot, thinking I had burnt them out in installing them.

One thing I would like to see in your shop is double pole tactile switches, I have  so many uses for them ,but I can't find any.

Like 1TONpete said, Do a security Style mod. i already have a Kit for sale. Its made for the Xbox console itself,  However It can be adapted to a controller. Ill even make one for the Controllers for you, And a video how to install it. It is REALLY straight forward.

Also, Phenoptic, I saw double pole tactile switches at radio shack yesterday. look there a well ;)
