reflowing motherboard success?
« on: September 21, 2011, 12:43:53 PM »
Wondering whether anyone here has been successful in reflowing their motherboard as a means to fix ylod?
Gonna attempt to fix a ylod over weekend and then install a progskeet and would be motivational for me to see others' successes.

I thought the Yellow light of Death was cause of Firmware error. My friend got the YLOD after a faulty download from sony.

I have re-flowed a PS3 ylod  and have sucess . There are some tutorials on you tube. Explaining exactly exactly how to do the Reflowed on a PS3. I will get back with you with sites showing you how to do it exactly and things you will need for a sucessful re-flow.

Ok I  said i would get back to you here is what you want to look over and do everything the way this is done. and you should have success :)

Cheers for link.
This is the guide i was going to follow: http://community.us.playstation.com/thread/790201?start=0&tstart=0
I was just thinking that maybe its too advanced if just imprecisely blasting it with a heat gun is enough to get the job done.
Has anyone here installed a progskeet?
