iPhone Help!
« on: October 09, 2011, 10:27:25 AM »
Right.. So I got my mates iPhone to try and sort out.. He messed around with it and jailbroke it and now it won't boot up, it either goes to one of the following screens when I try and do anything with it, Apple logo, Connect to Itunes or black screen.

Itunes detects it and says it needs to be restored & updated, so I went ahead and downloaded the update and it started fine but then it pops up with error 1015.

I did some research on this error and found a way to get around it here: http://www.redmondpie.com/fix-itunes-1004-1015-error-and-restore-iphone-4-3gs-successfully-on-ios-4.0.1-how-to-guide/

however this just presented me with an error when it got to the verifying update patch thing stage and that error meant that I need to upgrade my iTunes even though its the latest one.

Any ideas anyone? I just want it back to factory to be honest!

its stuck in recovery mode.. ive had this happen alot
you can try

1.use iREB to try and kick it out of recovery mode, or to put in dfu and try and restore

2.or TinyUmbrella and see which shsh blobs you have and restore to another custom .ipsw.

tinyumbrella is your best bet. if you need any more help just ask..

you gotta get you shsh blobs first. and figure out which ones you got. then make a custom ipsw. and the run tinyumbrellas server so it will bypass itunes...

yea. just from exsperience :p. i went through hell with mine. it showed dead battery. replaced the battery and still.. come to find out was stuck in recovery. on 4.3.5. and i updated the baseband so i could unlock it.. and from there it went to hell. and i figured out about what to do..

error 3194 is itunes is checking the baseband. and thats why you cant downgrade. tinyumbrella takes the blobs. and it will bypass that. and will let you restore a custom fireware that you previously had on it..

confusing. but it works.

if he updated the baseband. like say he went to 4.3.5 and is trying to go to 4.2. not going to work. you could make a custom ipsw.. but you need shsh blobs. i have been there..

Quote
Error 3194
Occurs when trying to install an old firmware and Apple’s server disallows the installation. The only solution is to have SHSH backup and modify the hosts file to point to Saurik’s Cydia server where they are backed up (or localhost if you have it yourself).

that's your probem. you don't have the SHSH blob.
