Xbox 360 JTAG bad or good

sup guys so one of my friends went to update there jtag and they gave it to someone who updates them and they screwed it up. first the rrod came they tried everything they even reballed the chips and all but now the error is giving me that its the network chip. if i change the network  chip can i fix the problem becasue hes selling it for 50 bucks becasue he bought a new one

it it worth buying or no?
