iphone 3gs help

My iphone 3gs start messing up today. so i restarted the phone and it was stuck on the apple logo. Then i  plug it into the charger and it now stuck the that is telling me to connect to itunes. when i did that i need to restore my iphone. it is jailbroken and on fw4.0. I am wondering what do i do to restore and keep my baseband and info on the phone?

i had this once and was :censored:ting myself but when i click restore it just put my phone back to the main screen and not restored my iphone.

not sure if its the same but if you know how to jb it just press it.

when i click on restore it tell me to restore and date and i don't want to update it. i do not want to upgrade my baseband because im using ultrasn0w to unlock it

Try installing a custom firmware which retains your BaseBand. Here a link to version 4.0 custom firmware http://www.iphoneheat.com/2010/06/download-custom-ios-40-firmware-ipsw/ it doesint have to be this exact one, thats just an example.

what is the different between unoffical carrier and offerical carrier. which one should i choose i do nt want to install the wrong file on my iphone

its in recovery mode... try ireb to try and kick it out of recovery. why its in recovery dont know..

if that doesnt work you will need to do like sammy said and get a custom ipsw. that preserves the bb. either you can upgrade or stay on 4.0

if you upgrade and update the bb to one that isnt unlockable.. youll have to update the bb to ipad bb. and not the best option.
