#7632 - Short Circuit
« on: January 21, 2012, 06:37:57 PM »
Older Entry Deleted.  Thx for the help on that guys :)

EDITED 1/21/12

Project name: Short Circuit
Custom xbox 360 controller.

Custom Paintjob (circuit board/AcidMods design)
LEDs (maybe fading/pulsing leds?)
Rapid Fire
Custom Analogs
Custom Dpad
Custom Painted XYAB buttons
Custom Triggers
Custom Bumpers
Custom Battery Pack

Colors (i don't like too many colors, so here's the 2 color choices i have so far)
*Clear (yes i know clear isn't a color lol, for my reference)
*Black
*Red or Blue ? ( :help: which?)
i'm going to make either the black or the red/blue pearl paint.  one not (it will make the other "pop")

Here's the pics of the Micro$oft OWM White controller, disassembled.

Next is actual design.  i'm truly horrible at drawing,  so i'll try and explain. Top half of controller will have the text ACIDMODS hopefully in large font (around the Guide button area)
A curved line will separate the Acidmods lettering on the top,  to a circuit board design (custom airbrushed)

As for accessories,  i was thinking Clear/back lit Analog sticks (360), Clear Dpad (Backlit?).
Bumpers, triggers, abxy, trim and battery pack will all be in the same Circuit board design.

as for the circuits,  i want to do something different than the usual green.  i was thinking bright red?  or bright blue.   haven't gotten there yet.  i have a vision in my mind,  its just grayscale.  am i allowed to ask for suggestions for color?

Will start prepping tomorrow.  i can't take pictures of the ENTIRE process,  but i will post as many as i can.  STOKED!

I have a suggestion about circuit color. You are using a clear controller correct. Why not keep the circuit clear and back light it what ever color you want, maybe add chasing effect on the circuit.

i hate using the XCM clear shells lol,  so i'm going to use the White OEM shell that came with it.  only parts that will be non-OEM are the Dpad, Analogs, LEDs i instal and any other "mods".

but i DO love the idea you came up with.  i can totally picture that in my head, and it would be dope. Anyone else ever have the problem of the XCM shell not being as quality as the OEM microsoft one?  doesn't fit right,  and its cheaper plastic?

acrylic!  yeah totally, that's why when screwing it in, the female end breaks,  they probably use the same for their chrome series?  i love the look of their products.  love it!  just can't use it cause of the quality of plastic.   and regarding giving them away,  i wish i could lol  some people still crave the clear shell, and i unfortunately have to have them in stock.

Any input on which font you like best?  i personally like the 4th one down, though, is it hard to read?   it does go with the techy feel.

Good progress so far, for the text of the "Acidmods" why not just use the same text that the site uses in it's logo? Just a suggestion.

You'd have to ask one of the admins sometime, or possibly someone from the art team would know.
