Drummerdude's Nes Mp3 Player
« on: February 15, 2012, 04:36:12 PM »
Here's something cool that i did yesterday. An mp3 player inside an nes controller. This isn't an original mod as it has been done many times before, but using my phone as an ipod wasn't cutting it. This mod took about 3 hours. I'm not completely done with it. After using it for one day, I found some big issues with it. 1. To turn the player on, You just tap the A button, so the ipod was being turned on in my back pack when I really didn't want it to. So now, I'm going to add a switch to turn the batteries on, so that way it won't turn on so often.
Here's a pic of the inside:

make the switch work as a hold switch instead of killing power. that way you can throw the switch and put it in your pocket while listening. just have your switch break content when it goes from the button pad to the player.

Good work.

Thanks Guys! I thought putting the indicator led in the jack was a pretty neat alternative then drilling a hole. that's my favorite part of it.

Batteries died on me for the first time. I replaced them and now I'm having issues, when you shake it or tap it, it shorts out or something, I imagine it does this since there is no battery holder, I just taped the wire to the battery, so it must be disconnecting and turn off when you move it a lot. Can I solder directly to the AAA battery? Thats prolly the best way to solve this if its possible, without spending any money.
