Help with RFM
« on: February 22, 2012, 02:51:22 PM »
Hey I have a CG2 controller and I want to make it into a rapid fire. I dont want to buy those $300 controllers so I was looking to make my own. Can anyone point me to a clear tutorial to make one? I've been looking for awhile and found some tutorials but they are old and I'm not too sure if they will work. Thanks

Yes, many of the codes here are old, but they still work perfectly. My personal favorite is hazer's flex rf. It's completely adjustable and works on every game. But if you want very easy instructions, I would recommend t0pfire as it has very easy instructions.

t0pfire tut: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,34229.0.html

also you might want to use an optocoupler/transistor for cg2 controllers, if you want the RF to turn on/off with the controller https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,34805.0.html

Will it turn on without it? I can just pull battery pack to turn off correct? And can I use topfire for mw3?

an octocoupler is a good idea, but not entirely needed. ive never used them before myself. I haven't tested t0pfire on mw3 myself, but i imagine it would work fine

if you dont mind pulling the battery pack, forget the opto. but you will regret it in the long run when you forget

I'll end up forgetting but I run with the rechargable battery pack so I can just recharge. But thanks for everything all you guys.
Is there a tutorial for Flex? Like wiring the  chip and everything in?

here are all the codes, I too recommend flex

https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,37478.0.html

use this first part of the tut to do the steps you need. its the only one I went that far in depth, nor is it formatted correctly as a tutorial... for flex all you need to is download the code and write it to the chip. (no modification, or source file for that matter) then install it per the diagram of choice.

there is a tut on a homemade programer if needed. should be in the same area of the forum.

As goes for the JDM programmer is it worth it to make your own other than just buying?

That was the tutorial I was going to follow to make one. But first I have to find a store that sells these parts.

One last question regarding the chip. Does it matter what the other stuff says on it? Aslong as it's 12F683?
I was going to order these ones: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5PC-IC-PIC12F683-I-P-12F683-I-P-12F683-MICROCHIP-DIP-8-/250887014787?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6a080983 wanted to make sure they would work first

And I cant find any of the supplies to make the programmer so I may as well just buy one off ebay:

Yes, those 12f683s are fine. The pickit 2 is a very good programmer.
