Sound Reactive mod PSP phat problems...

hay guys, i cant believe that i'm having trouble with this!!

But im installing the LM386 sound mod on a PSP i picked a while ago, and i cant get it to work.
I'm using the diagram thats posted on the PSP tutorial section, but to avail.

When i switch on the hold button the led soldered onto the Lm386 just goes on, and stays on??
I have tried it with different LM386's which i bought at different places but still get the same results, and on other 2 PSP's i got the same resul too...

Can anyone help me out here, i havnt succesfully done this mod EVER...

did you use the exact values for the resistors as mentioned in the diagram?
if you change then even a little bit then the mod won't work well
