first, i want to say thanks for inviting me to your forum and contest. this is my first modding contest. good luck to all. with out further a due. here we go. i chose an original xbox as my retro console to mod. I've looked at a lot of modded xboxs and thought a lot more could have been done to them. this is what i came up with.
ignore the controller and the dvd dongle, i didnt have time to mod those. i did soft-mod though. i wanted to install a larger hard drive but i didnt recieve it in time.
these are after the cut outs and shave. i shaved off all the ribs on the sides and shaved off the xbox on the dvd tray and the info on the right.
this is the marble effect i did. i hope it shows up well in the pics.
i switched out the old IDE ribbon cable for a lo-pro one that i took the rubber shield off of. i think it looks better this way.
my modded controller ports. i put buttons in the port to turn on an l.e.d. when a controller is pluged in. each port has its own button and l.e.d.
the wires and l.e.d.s for the ports.
l.e.d. placement. notice the slits i cut out of the top of the port.
its complete. 5 seperate pieces of plexi. 4 of them are bubbled. more airbrushing and close ups.
the side with mesh.

more bubbles.
with the lights on. a total of 14 l.e.d.s. 4 blues in the top, 2 blues for the eject button...
2 UV/purples on the bottom of this side...
2 more UV/purples on this side...
and a total of 4 white l.e.d.s, 1 for each controller port.
